Different for me but glad I read it

5.0 out of 5 stars Different for me but glad I read itOctober 30, 2014

I don't usually read this kind of book but I was given this book as a prize in a contest so I decided to do something different. The story is about a woman named Sarah who is in prison for killing her husband for domestic abuse. As with most abused women, Sarah feels she deserves whatever she gets and prison was on the menu. In comes Jon, her attorney who never gives up on her and does his damn to get her to see she was justified in killing her husband.
This book deals with domestic violence but is more about a woman's journey to self redemption and a man who wouldn't have it any other way. The story begins two years into Sarah's sentence and then reveals bits and pieces of back story in journals Sarah keeps during her time in prison, which gives you a personal look into the way Sarah sees herself, as a monster. Your emotions will run the gambit so be prepared. No spoilers but 5 stars should give you a clue.

Dragonshifters, a different twist on a traditional love story!

4.0 out of 5 stars

Rayne is a Dragonshifter and a commander in his unit of men who can shift into dragons when compelled too or at will. He is drawn to Kyndel, who has abilities of her own. He is injured while trying to protect her. She is drawn to Rayne against her better judgment and takes him to her home instead of the hospital. Sparks fly and the story becomes very steamy.

Ms. Mills is very descriptive in her writing and the characters are the driving force in the story. There are lots of twists and turns that will keep you interested and more Dragonshifters searching for their mates as the book takes it's time in moving the plot along.

The cover is amazing as are all in the series and you are instantly drawn to the books because of them. The inner dialogue was more than I was use too (hence the four stars) and it threw me off a bit but overall I think you will enjoy this sexy series.

Heads Up Readers! This review is from: Fallen - A Morbid Seraphic Short

4.0 out of 5 stars Heads Up Readers!June 6, 2014

Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fallen - A Morbid Seraphic Short (Kindle Edition)
Heads up readers. This is a 23 page short for the Morbid Seraphic anthology not a full novel. "Fallen" is a teaser to promote the anthology and the cover is what really caught my eye but on with my review.
An angel willing to give up his wings for human love. A woman who thought she wanted to be left alone. Malachi and Grace seemed destined to break all the rules. There is just enough here to pique your interest and in that sense, I want to read more.
There are some grammatical errors and an info dump here and there that pull you away from the story a bit but all in all I feel like this might be a precursor to a good story.

Review of Immortal Prophecy (The Immortal Prophecy Saga) by Samantha Adams

Vampires! Prophecy! Immortality!February 28, 2014

Ally DeCosta receives an awful reading from a fortune teller that comes true when her parents are killed. Five years pass and Ally is a scarred but strong-willed person who keeps everyone at arms length including her best friend Kat. She is a private investigator whose life always seems to be on the edge. Her life is in danger, threatened by an ancient vampire but guarded and rescued by a handsome stranger, James Carlisle. The vampire wants to destroy Ally before a prophecy she knows nothing about is fulfilled and before she can become an immortal.
Will James help Ally find out who she really is, or will the vampire, Vincent, destroy her and change everything? I enjoyed this story more than I thought I would. Ally is a strong character and the book is mostly written from her point of view. James is devoted and caring and Vincent is the bad guy we all love to hate.
The cover drew me in because it is truly beautiful. The series seems promising and except for some grammatical errors(the reason for the four stars) I found the story intriguing.
